What is YEIDA?

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority

The UP Government introduced the UP Industrial Development Act, 1976, with the primary aim of ensuring well-organized growth in industrial and related sectors within the state. To accomplish this, the Act led to the establishment of NOIDA, Greater NOIDA (GNOIDA), and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). These authorities were entrusted with the systematic development of their respective designated areas adjoining Delhi, which, if left unplanned, could have led to unauthorized urban expansion. The prominent townships of Noida and Greater Noida, situated near the YEIDA designated region, hold significant sway over any development that occurs within it.

YEIDA Master Plan

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has devised a conceptual plan to promote and facilitate systematic developments in the region. The primary focus of the project is to encourage industrial growth and accommodate the resulting influx of people from across Uttar Pradesh and neighboring areas. In the initial phase, the Perspective Plan covers the entire designated area, while the Draft Master Plan 2031 is specifically tailored for the parts of Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahar districts falling under the National Capital Region (NCR).

The vision for the YEIDA area revolves around establishing industry as the central economic activity, complemented by knowledge-based institutions seamlessly integrated with residential, commercial, and other essential components of comprehensive urban development. Positioned along the Yamuna Expressway, which connects significant tourist destinations like Agra and Delhi, the region is also expected to thrive as a hub for trade and commerce. Additionally, with numerous educational centers situated nearby, the proposal includes plans for regional-level institutions and settlements to further enhance the area’s development and potential.
